HIGHLY controversial AUSTRALIA/CROATIA ending

did anyone watch this game?
anyone know what the hell happend at the end of the game??
i have no idea why the goal was not allowed and why there was no penalty kick awarded............that ref is freaking crazy!!! he gave one Croatian player 3 yellow cards?wtf.........AUS should have won..........ahhhhhhhh

I was left scratching my head about a lot of things in this games. Have no idea why the goal was waived off, very strange. I know I will get blasted for saying this but it seems like at least half of the games are won or lost due to offisdes not being called when it should or being called when it should not have. There are mystery penalty shots and penalty shots that do not get called. I grew up playing soccer aall the way through Sopomore year of college when I blew a knee and never remember dealing with so many contraversial calls. I did drift away from the game but enjoy watching and betting. I think it would be very difficult to be a fan of a team. It seems like it can be very frustrating. No wonder emotions run so high.

With that said, I had the draw +230. Cannot beleive it won.

I had Australia at +200 and needless to say I was pissed the goal was waived off...what in the hell exactly happened? It seemed when the goal was disallowed, Australia was going to get a penalty kick, then the referee just called the game. Bullshit if you ask me. However, with the luck I've had this past month betting, this doesn't surprise me at all.

I think soccer is a lot of luck, one bad call and your game could be over. The margin of error in soccer is soo small. One day your shot will hit the post another day it will go right past the goalie. Obvisouly there is a lot of skilled involved but watching these games I see a lot of teams win on good luck and lose on bad luck.

I watched it...

I watched the game and actually was Tivo-ing, so I was able to go back and re-watch the ending.

What I saw was a foul called in the box and the whistle blowing prior to the ball going into the net. I believe the referee may have called a foul on an Australian player for a hand-ball, but no one stopped when the whistle blew because whistle's were blowing in the stands. The referee came in and said he had blown the whistle before the shot. Then, the Croatian player picked up his third yellow card after saying something to the official as he walked by him.

Lots wrong in that game - including the official issuing too many cards for him to keep track of, which is why the Croatian wasn't sent off after his second yellow.

Crazy shit - my guess is that the game-fixing scandal in Italy is just the tip of the ice berg. Officials are crooked in FIFA just like Refs are crooked in NBA and NFL - they're just normal folks, who don't get paid a ton of money and are easily bribed. Not saying all are, or even most are, just saying it could be possible.
